Iwai is a secret painter based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Iwai began his career as a painter by creating the character “Ned.” The idea of “Ned” in his work was created from a child wearing a mask in a kindergarten play. He is a passive child who mainly plays background characters such as trees, flowers, and mountains in the play because he is not active, but he is a lovely character who loves nature and imagines various things alone. His art reminds you of the fast-destroying beauty of nature and the importance of coexistence through the imagination of ‘Ned’, which blends freely with nature and animals.
